Dear CRT Enthusiast,


Marilyn Steakley was elected to the office of President General during this year’s Annual CRT Convention. Her project this year is to develop the foundational skills of current CRT members. A vital key to the success and growth of our organization is increasing attendance and participation throughout local chapters and the annual convention. In order to achieve this goal, Marilyn wants to start hosting CRT District Meetings in conjunction with DRT District Meetings. These meetings will be offered to CRT members who are 5 years of age or older.  All funds raised this year will go towards the costs associated with hosting these meetings this year and hopefully continue these meetings in the years to come.


At the District Meetings members will be informed of various chapter/state officer positions, parliamentary procedure, and basic understanding of genealogical research. She plans to make the presentation fun and interactive for attending members. Providing members with information through a PowerPoint presentation and then having those in attendance compete in a game of jeopardy to help reinforce what they have learned. Afterwards, lunch will be served Dutch treat, but it is the goal to be able to provide lunch in the future.


This is a pilot year and we will be testing this program at the following five DRT District Meetings.

Marilyn, the entire CRT Board of Management, the CRT Committee and myself are very excited about this initiative and hope you as a CRT Sponsor, parent, grandparent or member will see the value in such an event. We look forward to seeing you along the road.
